Governance Voting Opens
The third period of Algorand governance has officially opened with participants having until July 1 to cast their vote on the two measures put forward. The first relates to providing more weighting for DeFi projects on Algorand in recognition of the additional TVL that they bring into the ecosystem. Governors will vote as to whether, projects should be granted “governor status and twice the voting power, whilst maintaining the same governance rewards program to Algo holders that commit for the governance period.” The Foundation has confirmed that affirming this change would be their preference.
The second measure involves unlocking a process for xGovs bringing community measures forward for governance voting. Read the full details about both measures here and be sure to vote before the deadline elapses.
