Pera Wallet and Opulous Partner
Algorand’s official wallet Pera have confirmed a new strategic partnership with Music Royalty platform Opulous. The partnership will see Opulous integrate with Pera for all future MFT campaigns for a more seamless user experience. To celebrate the partnership the projects are running a joint giveaway on Twitter with ALGO prizes up for grabs.
Algomint & AlgoDAO listed on Ultrade
Algomint and AlgoDAO have partnered with new Algorand DeFi trading platform Ultrade. The project recently launched on testnet and plans to offer users a solution for a limit orderbook spot DEX, swaps, leveraged perpetuals and more are all in a single application. As part of the partnerships both goMINT/USDC and ADAO/USDC will be listed on testnet.
Foundation Partner with 10 Academy
The Algorand Foundation have announced a new partnership with 10 Academy with the aim of strengthening Web3 career opportunities in Africa. 10 Academy jumpstarts the careers of Africa’s highest potential university graduates. Their vision is that youth in Africa will have a rich set of pathways to secure decent, impactful employment with social, economic & environmental benefits.
Cooldown Period for 3rd Governance Period
The cooldown period for the 3rd period of Algorand Community Governance voting is now complete with both measures now officially locked in. As reported last week this period interestingly saw the first instance in which the community voted down a governance proposition with the proposal to make governance voting weighted to TVL turned down with 66% in the negative and 33% in the affirmative. The second measure related to introducing a process for XGovs to put forward measures with an overwhelming 98% of governors voting in the affirmative.
Algorand Celebrates 3rd Birthday
The Algorand network officially surpassed its third year of mainnet this week. Since launch the blockchain has impressively experienced no downtime, never forked, and completed in excess of 21.7 million blocks. The company have also secured several high-profile strategic partnership with significant global industries showing its potential for real-world application.
Zone Battleground Testnet Launches
Algorand based gaming protocol Zone has launched its new battleground feature on testnet for users to begin experiencing. The new feature allows users to stake ALGO and compete against each other in a series of games for prizes. Games available as part of the competition include Hoop Star, X-Trench Run, Samurai Rampage, Flip Jump, and Cubeform.
Algorand Support Launch of Techstars Crypto Boston
Algorand has this week announced a new partnership with global investment firm Techstars to launch the new Techstars Crypto Boston initiative. The program will see startups given personalized access to one-on-one mentoring, support, and investment. 12 high-growth, early-stage startups will participate in an intensive, 13-week program on an annual basis over three years.
Presentation of Algorand State Proofs by Head of Cryptography
Algorand Head of Cryptography Chris Peikert gave a presentation on Algorand State Proofs at the MIT Bitcoin Expo. Peikert studied at MIT under the stewardship of Algorand Founder Silvio Micali who remains a prominent figure within the MIT teaching staff. Peikert presentation focused on the primary solutions his team are trying to provide to Algorand namely interoperability and security against quantum attacks.
Alloy Gaming Announced by Chris Swenor
Prominent Algorand figurehead Chris Swenor has announced yet another Algorand based venture this week revealing the Alloy gaming project. In a private conference during NFT NYC. The Alloy project is a Web3 gaming platform ecosystem, in which gamers will own their games and digital assets. Influencers will be able to benefit from our built-in support structures that allow gamers to reward their favourite content creators. Swenor also heads up Reach and Humble Swap.
