NFT Loan Protocol Alandia Sets New All-Time High Loan
Algorand-based NFT loan protocol Alandia has broken its lean size record this week by completing a 35000 ALGO loan. The Alandia platform allows users to take out ALGO as personal loans using NFTs as collateral. The platform is currently holding 457 NFTs as collateral with over 54000 ALGO lent and 97 active loans.
Wayru Launched to Solve Global Internet Accessibility Issues
The launch of the new Wayru project has impressed Algorand users this week. Wayru is dedicated to increasing global access to the internet with as many as 4 billion people currently unconnected. Owners of Wayru’s Airblock NFTs fund Wayru’s ventures in providing internet connectivity to Latin Americans who currently lack access.
“80% of AirBlocks sales will go directly to connect people to the Internet in low-income communities where they cannot afford to pay for access,” Wayru says.
“For each AirBlock sale, we’ll connect a person to the Internet for a whole year. This NFT holds all the data that was imprinted from the network back to the blockchain of the usage and performance of certain node. This data includes GB of traffic, connected users, and overall community performance data thanks to the connectivity provided.”
Al Goanna Added to the Seattle NFT Museum
Al Goanna has this week been added to the Seattle NFT Museum as part of their new Climate Conservation exhibition. The Al Goanna project has been vocal in its support of environmental conservation efforts particularly in launching its Gilbert Goanna Fund which has seen over 40000 trees planted. This recognition gives Algorand NFTs a chance to shine on a cross-chain initiative.
Flemish Giants Reveal Version 2 Launch
Flemish Giants have revealed the upcoming launch of their version 2 series. Titled “Flemish Clones” the series will build upon the immense success of the first series which amassed over 300000 ALGO in total sales volume. The new series will see over 1000 NFTs minted on the Flemish Giants site.
Algorand Foundation to Host Earthday Session in the Metaverse
The Algorand Foundation are set to host a massive Earth Day session this Friday on the metaverse platform xSpaces welcoming a huge number of special guests. Among the list of speakers will be Al Goanna Founder Benji, Algorand Foundation CEO Staci Warden, Borderless Capital CEO David Garica, Planet Watch CEO Claudio Parrinello, Climatetrade CEO Francisco Benedito, Envision Racing CEO Sylvain Filippi, Blockbeam Co-Founder Drew Cousin, and more. The live celebration will span the course of one day and be dovetailed by a month-long exhibition of NFT projects from the Algorand ecosystem.
