Flemish Giants Surpass $1 Mil ALGO in Total Sales Volume
Flemish Giants have officially surpassed $1 million ALGO in total sales volume becoming just the fourth Algorand NFT project in history to reach the milestone. This growth has occurred rapidly with the v2 launch of the series seeing unprecedented success since going to market just a week ago. In that timespan the v2 series alone has amassed a total sales volume of in excess of $750,000 ALGO. With more shuffles and drops planned for the coming weeks, this may just be the beginning of Flemish Giant’s impressive growth.
Animalgo Sell Out New Series Rapidly
The Animalgo series enjoyed a hugely successful launch this week selling all 356 NFTs in their new 1/1 collection in mere seconds. The sale has seen the project amass an initial total sales volume of 30000 ALGO. The Animalgo series features NFTs with unique utility that requires users to snap them up before they go “extinct”. Bored Ape Yacht Club Experiences Exploit
In non-Algorand news, the world-famous Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT project on Ethereum was unfortunately the victim of bad actors this week. The project’s official Instagram account was compromised, with the hacker distributing a fraudulent link to a copycat of the BAYC website with a fake Airdrop, where users were prompted to sign a ‘safeTransferFrom’ transaction. This transferred their assets to the scammer's wallet. This serves as an important reminder to the community to always be vigilant when trading NFTs even with the biggest projects.
DEGEN Launches Discord Based Art Competition with $2 Million DEGEN on Offer
The Degen project has launched a new Discord based giveaway of their native DEGEN token. In a new channel the project is running an art competition whereby users can submit pieces which are then voted on by the community. The impressive prizes include 800000 ALGO for the winning artist, 600000 for second and 400000 for third. Users can take part in the competition here.
Al Goanna Makes Address at Algorand Foundation Earth Day Virtual Conference
During last week’s Earth Day celebrations Algorand Foundation welcomed several guests from the community including none other than Al Goanna Project Lead Benji. From his home in Australia, Benji explained the history and mission of the Al Goanna project placing a particular emphasis on the project’s conservation work with Climate Neutral. As Al Goanna prepares to launch its v2 series it is great to see that the blockchain’s leading NFT project is receiving recognition from Algorand itself.
Algorand Foundation Awards Grant to Alchemon
The Algorand based NFT game Alchemon has received a grant from the Algorand Foundation set to go towards the production of their mainnet product. The monster-collecting NFT game will have several features including 3v3 battles, a native token, and an in-game economy. The beta version of the Alchemon game launched earlier this month, with mainnet launch expected imminently.
“Here at Alchemon we are excited to help usher in the future that Algorand is building,” said Alchemon CEO Clifford Cannon.
“We see the future where micro-economies of protocols or communities can survive and thrive. Where one person’s entertainment can be someone else’s livelihood on the other side of the globe.
