Algorand FIFA Partnership Generates excitement for future FIFA NFTs built on Algorand
Following this week’s massive announcement that Algorand have reached an agreement with global Soccer governing body FIFA to become the sport’s official blockchain platform and provide the official blockchain-supported wallet solution. In addition to the massive exposure this will give Algorand, many of the ecosystem’s most prominent figures have expressed excitement about the possibilities this may unlock in the NFT space. Opulous CEO Lee Parsons revealed on a Twitter that he had an exciting call saying, “this $FIFA $algo partnership will be a lot bigger than just sponsorship. So many avenues for #NFT's, V excited!” Hivemind Capital CEO Matt Zhang also cryptically tweeted, FIFAcom x Algorand x #NFT #Game,” hinting at something larger. In any case with access to some of the world’s most valuable intellectual property, the potential is also most endless.
BAYC Otherside Error Causes Frustration of Ethereum
Participants of the new Otherside NFTs were left short-changed after the spike in activity caused the network to burn 55,843 Ethereum which is the equivalent of $157 million. In response to the issue Yugalabs the company behind the series issued the following statement on Twitter.
“This has been the largest NFT mint in history by several multiples, and yet the gas used during the mint shows that demand far exceeded anyone’s wildest expectations. The scale of this mint was so large that Etherscan crashed…”
“...We are aware that some users had failed transactions due to the incredible demand being forced through Ethereum’s bottleneck. For those of you affected, we appreciate your willingness to build alongside us – know that we’ve got your back and will be refunding your gas.”
SKYBOX Launched by Sports Agent Mike Roberts
Professional sport agent Mike Roberts in partnership with PointsKash has this week announced the launch of a new product called SkyBox that will help athletes sell NFTs against their name image likeness. The program is designed to help athletes further capitalize on commercial opportunities as well as increase engagement with fans. The platform is being built on top of the Algorand blockchain.
"We are thrilled to partner with Skybox in its launch of the most exciting opportunity offered to professional athletes in sports history" said CEO of PointsKash Steve Janjic.
"We believe Algorand blockchain technology has great potential to enhance the Sports fans and Player experience in the future and we are excited to have Skybox as one of our first collaborators in exploring this emerging space."
Lofty Sell 100th Real Estate NFT
The Algorand based Real Estate NFT project Lofty ai have surpassed a significant milestone this week selling the 10 property on their platform. Lofty’s revolutionary product allows users to own tokens that represent partial ownership of real estate properties. Once a user acquires a token they will then be able to participate in governance by voting on key decisions weighted proportionally to the tokens they hold.
Zestbloom Adds Scheduled Airdrop Service to Platform Functions

G-Raffe Completes Final Shuffle For Gen 1
The G-Raffe series has completed its final shuffle for its gen 1 collection. The project has enjoyed huge success so far currently having amassed a total sales volume of 250000 $ALGO making it among the top 20 largest NFT projects in the ecosystem at the time of writing. The series creators are also behind the hugely successful Young G series which has also attracted over 200000 $ALGO in sales volume.
