Poppin Puffins Migrates from Terra Luna to Algorand
The popular Terra Luna NFT project Poppin Puffins have this week announced they are making the switch over the Algorand blockchain. The crash of the Terra Luna stablecoin over the past week has been well documented and left most all projects building on its network “without a home.”
“The ethos of Algorand aligns with our mission,” said Poppin Puffins in a press release announcing the news.
“Their main value proposition is being the Greenest blockchain, even carbon-negative through the use of offsets. Several major projects on Algorand have a conservation focus. This is a future-proof move from a business perspective, and it is a great point for us to overcome the pushback we’ve received from partners like Audubon and Icelandic orgs. The Poppin brand’s art is high quality, and on Algorand we will stand out as a premiere project from day one.”
The project also received a special welcome from Algorand Foundation CEO Staci Warden and COO Jason Lee praising the project for donating 2.5% of their profits to charities supporting Puffins and the conservation of natural seabird habitats.
Opulous Announces Competition on the Eve of MFT Launch
Ahead of their upcoming MFT launch of Kyle’s new album, It’s Not So Bad, Opulous have been running their SuperDuperWeek promotion with several challenges and giveaways to get fans excited about the drop. Launching on May 26th, It’s Not So Bad is the first-ever album to be released as an MFT. In addition to obtaining royalties of the album's songs, MFT holders will also be given exclusive NFT artwork.
Al Goanna takes further steps to establish the Goanna DAO
Al Goanna have confirmed that the project have initiated the first steps towards setting up a DAO infrastructure. A statement on Twitter read, “We've been working on a proposal for the formal establishment of a fully funded Goanna DAO. All current owners can now read the proposal and take part in discussions about next steps in the holders area of our discord.” Certainly one to keep a close eye on for any Algorand NFT enthusiasts.
Say Meow Club Enjoys Breakout Week
The Say Meow Club series enjoyed a hugely successful week, at one point breaking into the top 3 of weekly total sales volume on NFTexplorer trailing only Al Goanna and MNGO, the ecosystem’s two largest projects. The Say Meow Club is a collection of 10,000 2D Kitty NFTs unique collectibles hosted on the Algorand blockchain. Each NFT is a membership card to a community of holders which is growing rapidly. Since launch, the project has amassed a total sales volume of 24,000 ALGO.
Limewire partners with Universal Music Group
The revamped Limewire project that is being built on Algorand has partnered with Universal Music Group. As part of the agreement Universal Music Group artists can now offer audio recordings, audiovisual content, backstage footage as well as other artworks as NFTs on the Limewire marketplace and sell them directly to fans and collectors in a safe and trusted environment. With an endless list of global icons on their books including Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, The Rolling Stones, U2, BTS, Chris Stapleton, The Weeknd, Abba, and Elton John this opens the door for huge growth opportunities in the Algorand NFT ecosystem.
