Algorand Appoint New CEO
Algorand has announced Sean Ford as its new interim CEO wtih Steve Kokinos stepping into a new role as an advisor. Ford has served as Algorand’s COO for the past four year’s overseeing the organization’s responsible for go-to-market execution and operations including product management, engineering, marketing and global community development. Kokinos was appointed Algorand CEO in 2018 and has been at the helm during many significant milestones including Algorand’s mainnet launch and healthy growth over the ensuing period. "I am honored to step in and partner with Silvio during this transition," said Mr. Ford. "Algorand has experienced monumental growth since its inception, and we look forward to our continued expansion as we take Algorand to the next level."
Algorand to Host E-Racing Event in London
The Envision Formula E Racing Team is gearing up for this weekend’s British Grand Prix in London with commercial partner Algorand making their presence felt at the event. Algorand have set up a community event at a secret location in the build-up. At the event several prominent project founders will deliver addresses as well as hosting other entertainment. Envision is a UK-operated team who are driving a lot of additional promotional material including a video with Liverpool and England Football player Trent Alexander-Arnold.
ARC19 Technology Takes Ecosystem by Storm
The recent implementation of the open-source ARC19 model for NFTs has taken the Algorand ecosystem by storm with projects of all shapes and sizes looking to integrate it. The technology allows users to encode changes to NFTs based on smart contract conditions when they are minted on the blockchain. It was brought to market by the NFDomains project as a way to facilitate their domain technology. This means that creators have near endless possibilities for additional utility within their NFTs.
Scaramucci Algorand Book Reaches Next Stage in Development
Skybridge Capital CEO Anthony Scaramucci this week announced that his eagerly anticipated Algorand book has been sent to the publisher. The prominent Algorand investor has hinted at the development of the book for a number of months, hoping it can be used to draw more attention to the burgeoning ecosystem. Scaramucci’s firm Skybridge has a large position in Algorand with the man himself being a vocal advocate of the technology in several high-profile television appearances.
Venue One Launches on Testnet
Decentralized Prediction Protocol Venue One has this week launched its testnet, opening the floodgates for the community to get a taste of what the platform will be like. Venue One is specifically seeking feedback on the following areas, general ease of use, onboarding, trading, liquidity provision, and anything else. Following the testnet period, Venue One are gearing up for both mainnet launch for the $VENO token TGE.
Scott Melker Interviews Staci Warden
Algorand Foundation CEO Staci Warden this week sat down for a discussion with financial content creator Scott Melker about unlocking economic inclusion globally on Algorand. Warden provided a comprehensive overview of Algorand’s goals for the future and the technology that makes it possible. She also spoke about her own background in traditional finance and how that informs her decision-making in her current role.
New Vestige Website Launches
The new Vestige site has launched this week following the company’s rebrand from Tinycharts. Users will also be able to exchange TINY tokens to VEST tokens at a rate of 1:3 through a smart contract. A Tiny Mug NFT will be added as a gift for swapping over 100 TINY, with more rare NFTs given for swaps over 1 000 and 10 000 TINY (one NFT per wallet).
Opulous Release Roadmap Update
The music NFT platform Opulous has revealed a new roadmap update outlining the projected journey for the 2022/23 year. There are many interesting milestones including the addition of Opulous Staking Pools, the announcement of new artisits, an MFT launchpad, and Opulous Music Loans.
Tinyman Open New gALGO/USDC Pool
Algorand AMM protocol TInyman have this week announced a new gALGO/USDC pool on their platform. The gALGO token was created by Folks Finance as a mechanism for liquid governance. The utility of the token has been steadily increasing week by week.
Zone Launches on Mainnet
Algorand based gaming protocol Zone has launched on mainnet. The protocol allows users to play to earn with a variety of games on the platform. On launch the platform has a variety of features and data. Users can play games on the platform and earn $ZONE tokens to unlock new utility.
