xBacked Launches Public Testnet Protocol
Algorand DAO and stablecoin protocol xBacked this week launched their public testnet product allowing the community to use their platform for the first time. In a statement, the project wrote, “the team at xBacked want to hear your feedback, both positive and constructive.”
“The team will use your insights to constantly work to improve the user experience.”
“With features constantly being added and refined to enhance the user experience, the team at xBacked is committed to building the best product possible.”

Pact Security Audit Completed by Runtime Verification
Algoand DEX Pact confirmed this week that they have successfully an audit with Runtime Verification. The audit took place in a two-phase process over a total 6-week period from November 17, 2021 to December 17, 2021 and from January 10, 2022 to January 21, 2022.
In their report Runtime Verification commented that:
“The contract’s source code is of exceptionally high quality, and we have enjoyed working with the team at Pact Finance, who have provided us with any assistance possible to make the audit process smooth and productive.”

Algodex publishes whitepaper
AlgoDEX have this week published their whitepaper, providing extensive details about the platform to the community ahead of their imminent mainnet launch. The project is currently live on testnet where users can begin experiencing what the full platform will be like. AlgoDEX have also inked dozens of strategic partnerships with other projects around the ecosystem.
Algofi Reveals Roadmap Update
Algofi have unveiled a new project roadmap outlining their DEX, involvement in the Aeneas Rewards program, and more. The release provided a quarter-by-quarter breakdown of what is in store for the project in 2022.
“As the year progresses and the team receives new information, roadmap milestones could be re-prioritized,” Algofi said in a statement.
“Also, as new, compelling opportunities emerge, the team will seize upon them.”
“That said, today the team is heads-down executing on this roadmap to bring the most secure and robust DeFi hub to the Algorand community.”
RALLY Receives Grant From Algorand Foundation
RALLY have been announced as the latest recipient of an Algorand Foundation grant to develop the NFT marketplace for endurance athletes.
The grant provided by the Foundation will be used to conceive new ways in which blockchain technology can be used to facilitate community interactions between the stakeholders of the society.
According to Cryptonewsz, the primary reason behind this coming together is the synergy that RALLY and Algorand have found in their operational and functional procedures.
eMerge Americas Partners With Algorand for the 2022 Global Start-up Showcase
eMerge Americas, a venture-backed platform focused on transforming Miami into a global tech hub, has announced the kick-off of the annual 2022 Global Startup Showcase where participants will have a chance to win sizeable prizes.
“We are extremely excited to be collaborating with eMerge Americas on the 2022 Startup Showcase in order to support founders and developers who are building applications and solutions of the future,” said Steve Kokinos, CEO of Algorand.

Algorand Named Among 22 Boston Start-ups to Watch in 2022
Algorand has been named by the Builtinboston publication as one of 22 Boston Startups to Watch in 2022 in a recent annual list.
“Algorand was designed from the start as a green blockchain and is one of the world’s first carbon-negative, layer-1, public blockchains," they said in their description.
“Their native token, $ALGO, could also make Algorand an ideal platform for DeFi development — possibly even a viable alternative to Ethereum. When bitcoin was recognized by El Salvador as valid legal tender, Algorand was selected as the official blockchain platform for that project, with their native token chosen to help El Salvador develop its own blockchain infrastructure.”
Algorand Foundation Awards Grant to Day-By-Day
Day-By-Day has been awarded a grant by Algorand Foundation to support the development and building of the world’s first decentralized insurance platform for real-world assets.
“We’re excited to welcome Day By Day to the Algorand Ecosystem through our grant program,” said Addie Wagenkneckt of Algorand Foundation.
“Our grant support for Day To Day will bring a decentralised insurance platform to Algorand, securing user data and making insurance processes simpler and more transparent for all stakeholders whether they be insurers, brokers, business clients or individuals.”
“This is a very exciting blockchain use case which will afford users the ability to manage their business and personal assets.”
The Algorand Foundation Partners with UC Berkeley
The Algorand Foundation has confirmed a partnership with UC Berkeley to support the Berkeley Center for Responsible, Decentralized Intelligence (RDI) as part of the Foundation’s University Programme.
“Our partnership with RDI will support their ongoing efforts in developing blockchain and DeFi certification courses,” said Hugo Krawczyk, Principal Researcher at Algorand Foundation.
“We need to provide the next generation of blockchain natives with educational tools so they can guide real-world deployments. RDI — with its proven track record of delivering successful courses in blockchain technology — is the perfect partner for this.”
