A week to remember for Al Goanna
The ever-popular Algorand based Al Goanna NFT series has once again been making headlines on multiple fronts this week, continuing to be a leading Algorand NFT project. This began with the original Goanna breaking the Algorand NFT sales record twice in a short time span, firstly setting a new record at 42,069.69 Algo before it was beaten again at an astonishing sum of 111,111.11 Algo.
Alongside this record, Al Goanna also received a major investment into 24 of their NFTs from several high-profile venture capital funds including Meld Ventures, Valhalla Capital, Algopulse, and Eterna Capital. This marks a significant milestone in the history of Algorand NFTs with institutions now seeing the potential for future growth.
“It has been an incredible period of innovation in NFTs across Algorand, so much of this has been led by the Al Goanna series,” said Meld Ventures Co-founder AJ Milne on behalf of the various investors.
“We are excited to continue to support founders and creators in the marketplace.”
To round out an already big week, Al Goanna’s recent collaboration with new Algorand stablecoin project xBacked saw them make a donation for 758 trees to be planted in rural Australia.
Opulous complete their first-ever S-NFT sale in just 2 hours
After months of anticipation from the Algorand, blockchain, and music community Algorand based music licensing project Opulous completed their first-ever S-NFT Sale of Lil Pump and Soulja Boy’s upcoming single Mona Lisa. Seeking funding of $500,000, the sale reached its goal in just 2 hours with 925 people investing who will now earn royalties as the song continues to grow. Opulous have already begun working on their second S-NFT sale promising another collaboration with a major artist.
Aorist Art launches new NFT marketplace for fine art
Aorist Art has launched joining an ever-expanding group of new Algorand based NFT marketplaces. The project is looking to provide a hub for artists and collectors to explore high-level artwork minted as NFTs on Algorand. Aorist have built their marketplace on Algorand and will also be working with ClimateTrade to offset at least double their emissions generated by minting NFTs.
Algo Gang Originals launch creative writing contest
Algo Gang Originals this week announced a unique creative writing contest with Algo prizes on offer to participants. This is a part of their larger “Adventures of the Algo Gang Originals” narrative series involving eight fictional characters connected to the wider Algorand ecosystem. Prizes on offer include:
- 100 ALGO for 1st place
- 50 Algo for 2nd place
- 25 Algo for 3rd place
